Yes. I met her not long after she became a magical girl. She was fighting a witch in my territory... I stayed out of it until the end. Her magical technique was that of making illusions of herself. Against most witches it would work but the one she was fighting that day seemed to be employing the same technique. Sakura-san was getting worn out and frustrated so I stepped in to help.

I guess I impressed her. She asked me to teach her after we managed to kill the witch.
