It's been rather serious lately. It won't help much but I found a few delicious pictures that might brighten your mood. Of what? Why, cake.

I would like to say that, while I am quite skilled at baking, these aren't my creations. I merely found pictures of them.

Indeed it is, Kaname-san. Some cake artists are quite amazing.

But this post did bring a smile to my face. The work that went into these is inspiring... it is truly impressive seeing how far artistry has come with regards to food.

Mm. Yes, I'm always amazed at the artistry these talented people show. They're also edible, of course. Though, I've seen artistic cakes that aren't edible so they'd last longer.

Ah, so they have made it an artform in and of itself? It almost seems a shame, in some ways. But then, I suppose it is equally a shame to have to eat something so beautiful...

Why would ya make one look like a unicorn if you're just gonna eat it either way? That's a waste of time, it's about how it tastes, not how it looks! [ but still, cake... she's so hungry now. ]

These kinds of cakes are normally made for special ocassions. Birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, things like that... People tend to splurge on things like that--it most cases it's the thought that counts. Wouldn't you like a more personalized cake before you ate it?

.. I dunno, won't all cake end up looking the same by the time it's in your stomach? I don't really see the point except for wasting money.

It's edible, yes. From the angle I can't tell if it's a board covered in fondant or another layer of cake but if you look closely, you can see the texture isn't right for cloth.
